The Mulberry Roxanne is one of the most iconic bags in Mulberry’s history and is widely regarded as one of the brand’s most sought-after models from the early 2000s.

Originally launched in 2004, the Roxanne quickly achieved cult status thanks to its distinctive design featuring multiple straps, buckles, and rivets, which gave the bag its bold yet relaxed character. It soon became one of Mulberry’s most recognisable designs and played an important role in establishing the brand’s popularity during the early 2000s. Today, the Roxanne remains one of Mulberry’s most desirable vintage handbags.

The bag is crafted in Oak Darwin Leather. Darwin Leather is one of Mulberry’s most iconic and highly regarded leather types and was used on some of the brand’s most popular models. It is known for its soft texture, natural character, and ability to develop a beautiful and individual patina over time. For many Mulberry enthusiasts, Darwin Leather is closely associated with the brand’s most iconic designs from this period and continues to be highly sought after by collectors of vintage Mulberry bags.

Oak is one of Mulberry’s most iconic colours and is strongly associated with many of the brand’s classic models. Over time, the shade develops a beautiful depth and patina, ensuring that every bag becomes unique.

The warm Oak colour highlights the natural depth of the leather and enhances the distinctive vintage character for which the Roxanne is known.

The bag features the signature front pockets, multiple buckles, and substantial hardware that make the Roxanne instantly recognisable.

Inside, the bag is lined in raw suede and features a spacious main compartment together with a practical zipped pocket.

The zip is made by Riri, a detail characteristic of Mulberry’s early models from this period.

As shown in the photographs, this is an early example of the Roxanne model and does not have a serial number behind the Mulberry medal plaque. This is consistent with certain early Mulberry models and corresponds perfectly with the bag’s age, construction, and other authentic details.

This particular bag was originally purchased from Mulberry in Copenhagen in 2006. The original purchase receipt is still included, together with the original Mulberry hangtag containing the model information and the original Mulberry dust bag.

It is rare to find Roxanne bags from this period that still retain the original purchase receipt, hangtag, and dust bag.

Condition – Beautiful, Well-Kept Condition

The bag is in beautiful, well-kept condition and is exceptionally well preserved for a Roxanne from this period.

The leather remains exceptionally well preserved, displaying a beautifully developed natural patina and impressive depth of colour. Over time, the Oak Darwin Leather has developed the character, warm glow, and rich tonal variation that have made this leather one of the most sought-after among Mulberry enthusiasts and collectors.

The handles remain in very good condition and have retained their shape beautifully, showing only light age-related signs of careful use.

The corners, edges, and base are exceptionally neat and well maintained, displaying only light age-related signs of use.

The signature brass-tone hardware displays a beautiful natural patina and normal signs of use that complement the bag’s age and overall character.

Inside, the bag is clean, well maintained, and clearly well cared for. The suede lining remains attractive, and the zipped pocket functions perfectly.

As shown in the photographs, one press stud is missing from the decorative leather detail on the back of the bag. This does not affect the functionality or usability of the bag in any way.

Overall, this is an exceptionally well-preserved example of the iconic Mulberry Roxanne. The combination of the beautiful patina, excellent condition, original 2006 purchase receipt, and complete original accessories makes this a particularly desirable example for both Mulberry enthusiasts and collectors of early Mulberry models.
